How to Counter-Act Amisulpride-Induced Prolactin Sides (Reduce Elevated Prolactin Caused by Amisulpride) (Reduce Prolactin WHILE ON/Still Taking Amisulpride)

AmiSulpride is a substituted benzamide which shows great efficacy in Schizophrenia and Manic patients. It also can be an effective anti-depressant and anti-anhedonic , in some cases. However, despite being an effective serotonin 5-HT 7 receptor antagonist and dopamine autoreceptor blocker (thus an effective and unique drug overall) -it has, like other anti-psychotics -  a strong prolactin boosting effect. Which needs to be remedied to prevent or reverse hormone deficiencies which may occur while taking the medication.

There are a number of ways to do this.
This is my recommended supplement stack to counter and eliminate Amisulpride's prolactin-ogenic effects. While preserving the benefits of the drug.

1.) Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate : This is a highly BIOAVAILABLE form of Vitamin-B6 which readily crosses the blood-brain-barrier where it can then rapidly reduce Pituitary Prolactin (1) (2) (3) and directly stimulate the tuberoinfundibular networks of dopamine neurons and projections (4) (5) (6) (7).

My recommended LAB-TESTED P5P supplement is below.

2.) Pantethine :  Pantethine is a special form of PANTOTHENIC Acid (Vitamin B-5) which should be taken 4 HOURS AWAY from P5P and should be SECONDARY and IN ADDITION to P5P. That means emphasize the dose of P5P more than Pantethine; use appropriate doses of both but the main sup here is still P5P. Pantethine has been shown to decrease estrogen-related-Prolactin release as well as drug-induced Prolactin; though again, to a lesser extent than P5P. Still should be added to your regimen though. It Works.

3.) American Ginseng (Panax quinquefolium) : This herb is the final and one of the most important additions to your Prolactin-Inhibiting Stack. This is NOT the same as Chinese or Korean Ginseng so it's important the genus/species is exactly as above - but to make it easier I put a link to a valuable and certified AG brand below. American Ginseng decreases Prolactin (8) AND serotonin (5-HT) (9) which then improves sex drive and corrects hormone deficiencies caused by Amisulpride.

    1. Off and On, Yes. I use it for occasional Anhedonia/Depression though. It works great for both. Unfortunately, any dose of it raises Prolactin even 50 mg - 100 mg.
