Transdermal NeuroSteroids : Buy DHEA / Pregnenolone Cream? Is DHEA cream better than oral?

DHEA & Pregnenolone are two of the most commonly used neurosteroid/steroid hormone precursor supplements used for anti-aging benefits and for overall hormone balance. They are also pretty cheap in the tablet form, however, studies have shown that DHEA and pregnenolone both have pretty low ORAL bioavailability rates(1) (2) (3).

This does not mean however, that they (the tablets) are useless or can not reach any appreciable concentration...just that it takes larger of a dose or extended periods of treatment to see results. Much longer than transdermal, percutaneous, intramuscular or sub-Q.

For neurological disorders and neurotransmission benefits, transdermal forms are going to be of more use. Regulating cortisol is another benefit of DHEA supplements.

Transdermal DHEA & Pregnenolone are available in a specific combination product called RS Transaderm...which at the moment is at the top of my list in terms of quality and efficiency. I would call it the 'Andractim Equivalent' but for DHEA/Preg.

However, for your convenience, I have listed a number of other similar products and alternatives.

               WHERE TO BUY DHEA CREAM / PREGNENOLONE CREAMs
I would say these are the neurosteroid/precursor equivalents to Andractim, a well known DHT gel, with RS transaderm leading the punch.

1.) RS Transaderm : A neurosteroid; DHEA/Pregnenolone combination (72;18mg ratio) with an anti-estrogen complex in it as well as reveratrol for antioxidant support - all in a cream / transdermal solution.

2.) 'Life-Flo' DHEA for Men : 4-ounce supply of nutraceutical grade DHEA cream, cheaper than the above but doesn't contain any of the other ingredients or estrogen support and may have slightly* less absorption capacity.

3.) DHEA-MAX CREAM : : Unscented cream in a jar for men and women.

4.) 'Life-Flo' Pregnenolone Cream: Pure pregnenolone cream for sale, pack of 2 - great deal for around 20 bucks!!

5.) AllVia Integrated Pharmaceuticals Pregnenolone 15 2oz : Powerful brand, about on par with life-Flo, slightly different sense/smell of it. Enhanced mood may be more pronounced but not that much different than the above.

6.) D-35 Complex D.H.E.A. Gel :: Another powerful men's DHEA gel, a little more fierce on the marketing theme perhaps - but nonetheless, a good product!

7.) 'Life-Flo' Testro Max For Men Body Cream :: A little more complex than the above products, more potent but not for everyone!

8.)   'TWIST - 25"  DHEA Cream - More expensive version of the above, little better quality in terms of preservatives use and the particular suspension. Other than that, nothing special. Good cortisol control.

9.) LF Swanson - No words necessary, same as above.

10.) DHEA - Alt    -  just another source.

Area-1255 :: Ceretropic DARK Adrafanil Review (Independent Review) (Review by JAY)

This is an unbiased, clean, psyche stabilized (placebo void) review of CERETROPICs Dark Adrafanil.

Similar to modafanil - I first used the product when I was working on 3.5 hours of sleep, the day had me a complete mess - and stress to go along with it!

This adrafanil, the dark kind - helped to improve clarity and dissolve the trance like state I was in ...usually 400 mg/day would work but 600mg had a super potent effect. I didn't have any side-effects or stomach upset. I will say this for those that are unaware, if you use H1 antagonists (AKA antihistamines) the night before (did this once) it will probably take more adrafanil to get the job done, depending on the person. There was no ill taste and additional effects seemed to be the increase in motivation and abolition of specific-sleep-deprivation related brain fog. The times I got a full night of sleep before, there was a euphoric effect at 600 mg of dark adrafanil!

-Area-1255-

~EXPANSION~
I feel as though the adrafanil was very pure all the way through. It didn't have a bitter or burning taste, and the effects kicked in about 15 minutes ahead...I also did NOT stack anything with the product.

With exception of one time (the fourth day in) An antihistamine the night before as a test (benadryl) , but thereafter it was a clean trial.

Specifically, my schedule was as follows.

SUNDAY  5/24/2015 :: slept from 2:08 AM - 5:38 AM night before :: Dosed @ 7:00 AM
MONDAY 5/25/2015 :: slept from 10 pm to 11 AM :: Dosed @ 11:30 AM
TUESDAY 5/26/2015 :: slept from 12-10:30 :: Dosed at 11 AM
WEDNESDAY 5/27/2015 :: slept 12-10 AM benadryl night before :: Dosed at 11 AM
THURSDAY 5/28/2015 :: slept 12-10 AM :: dosed at 11 AM
FRIDAY 5/29/2015 :: slept from 1-7 AM :: dosed at 8 WITH CAFFEINE ::

SATURDAY --> & BEFORE SUNDAY were alike MONDAY - THURSDAY, except I drank coffee on all of these days, however, there was noticeable / supplemental differences.

 Awesome product overall, on the days I drank it WITH coffee, it was a much more intense effect..the clarity and motivation were in near perfect harmony.
Even alone, it helped avert the 'negative' burned out mindset resultant from my lack of sleep --- it wasn't hardcore on intellectual function but it did increase creativity.  It also seemed to draw in attention to detail, and made everything manageable on sleepless nights and joyful on the days I got excellent sleep!

Euphoria was not classical as in self-reflected or grandiose nor was totally perpetuating an internal rambling as in with amphetamine...but rather, the euphoria was just a proud, clear, awake, joyful, attentive - perfect balance - "ZONE" like feel.

-------------------------------
                     DOES ADRAFANIL CAUSE ANXIETY?
-----------------------------------------
Some people report anxiety on adrafanil, armodafanil, or modafanil like analogues..I did not experience such an effect, although, to be fair, I rarely experience anxiety from any stimulant...except perhaps agitation or tachycardia in EXTREME cases or bad stacks.

Despite the few out of a thousand inconveniences, I am an experienced user who has transitioned out of the average paradigms and those susceptible to the parasitic plaebo effect. I have 'psyche-watched' and thus stabilized myself to understand my body's consistencies and mental consistencies and as well comparing to without obsessing on details, the pharmacology of each substance I use...

Because of all of this - I can guarantee you this adrafanil is not placebo effect at all nor is a psychogenic-self-mediated stimulus by any other means for it was a clean run and with exception of one day benadryl the night before, as shown on the chart above..and coffee one week but not the other...

Still, there are measurable, 'can't help but notice' type effects, both by alleviation and by re-ignition...love it!

Natural / Herbal PostSynaptic 5-HT1A Antagonists (post-synaptic only antagonists)

Serotonin's 1A receptor comes in two forms, for those of you who don't know... The Pre-Synaptic receptor which acts as an 'autoreceptor' thereby decreasing serotonin release (1) as well as GABA (2) (3) and glutamate (4) - and the post-synaptic receptor....the post-synaptic 1A receptor, when activated; often causes anxiety(5), trouble falling asleep(6), cognitive difficulties(7), and in some cases, psychosis and obsessive-compulsive behavior(8) (9).  That's not to say it doesn't ever* have a positive role...but the antagonism of it is ideal for those who suffer from stress related issues and insomnia.

Additionally, it seems the post-synaptic side is a functional inhibitor of the nitric oxide - NMDA pathway (10) (11) which explains why excessive activity at this receptor can dampen libido, motivation and sex hormone production.

Now I don't know the EXACT affinity of the following products at that site, but I can tell you that they definitely help sleep and they help to blunt / remove sleeplessness caused by pro-serotonin supplements etc

Although it's on very rare occasion I use anything serotonergic and so it was more of a telling experiment in this case to do so.

Here is a study showing SPINOSIN, a component of ziziphus spinosa          (WILD JUJUBE) can antagonize post-synaptic 5-HT1A receptors, alleviate anxiety caused by serotonin at that receptor, and promote sleep.

It can be bought below , but it also has GABA-A promotive action so it is not solely a serotonin antagonist. The other benefit is that Wild Jujube also antagonizes 5-HT1B receptors (12) and this also would provide an anti-anxiety action .

The next post-synaptic 1A antagonist would be berberine(13), berberine has strong use as both a blood sugar stabilizer and male aphrodisiac(14).

How to Upregulate Beta-Adrenergic Receptors (To improve Energy , Fat Loss etc) (Increasing B3,B2 Receptors)

When it comes to Adrenergic (adrenaline) receptors - alpha is not better. No, Beta is the king of adrenergic biology. And beta activation makes you Alpha. Well, maybe not quite.That.simple. Beta-receptors do however promote fat loss and are crucial for energy production..hence the euphoric Zen of clenbuterol and related agents. Unfortunately, if you use albuterol, clenbuterol, higenamine or any other beta agonist every.single.day.of.the.week - eventually, the receptors will respond to what they perceive as 'Excess Agonism'...the receptors chicken out and shrink (well, downregulate).

Beta receptor downregulation is not a good thing for those who seek energy for their workouts and fat loss. It also can play a role like cavalry attempting to conquer our muscle building goals.

We need to decimate this oppositional strike and upregulate the beta receptors to keep our fitness goals on point!!

In order to upregulate the beta receptors, we need to find out the molecular regulators or really, the promoters of this occurrence

1.) DHEA : As simple as it may sound, DHEA is cited in multiple studies (1) (2) (3) to increase fat loss and upregulate beta-adrenergic 3 densities(4). Beta-3-receptors , if you recall, are very prominent in their fat loss role(5)(6)(7).

So before you discard the other uses of DHEA (including the anti-cortisol effects and glucagon modulating effects) , at least consider it's ultimate betaempowering-empower you potential! !!

If you aren't convinced or aren't a fan of oral DHEA supplements, you can always go with a transdermal version such as RS Transaderm which is currently heading the leap in more bioavailable alternatives. It definitely works quicker from my experience and in itself also contains an anti-estrogen complex and some other neat ingredients which can further spur fat loss.

2.) Increase Testosterone :  How many times do I have to say it ?? Testosterone, this is the hormone you want to keep around in Large Quantities, you want to maximize the level of by any means necessary. Testosterone is shown to amplify the beta receptor induced cyclic AMP accumulation and supports the metabolic rate and central energy production by this mechanism, among others. (8)(9)(10)(11).

Above on link {8} , it is shown that testosterone directly upregulates the beta-receptor density / expression. Using something like PhytoSERMs or something simple like Tongkat Ali could significantly be a game changer in your fat loss or muscle growth routine...testosterone also helps protect the heart (!) (!) and helps to prevent cardiac issues (!) from a multitude of substances as long as it is in the proper ratio with estrogen. (another reason to draw blood and take an anti-estrogen if necessary).

Testosterone also decreases alpha-2-receptors in the brain (mainly frontal cortex) which leads to improved circulation, oxygen delivery and increased memory and motivation(12) (13) (14).

3.) DHT Gel or Products ;)
DHT treatment is shown to reverse both castration caused (15) and GPC deprivation (16) related beta receptor downregulation - and it is one of the best forms of testosterone for improving memory function(17)

In conclusion fellas, neursteroids and prosteroids/precursors are the 'conversion factor' and more for ultimate results, including restoring sensitivity to Clen or other beta agonists.

Testosterone, DHEA, DHT - these are the keys to keeping your beta receptors on the up and up, literally.

4.) Minimize Estrogen and Progesterone
Estrogen and progesterone can both promote fat retention and can decrease metabolism and specifically make your body retain love-handle and abdominal/trunkal fat, this is confirmed in a multitude of studies but this specific study elucidates estrogen and progesterone's anti-beta-receptor role....

Thus, what should be common sense for experienced fitness enthusiasts may also cause us to ---re-evaluate how much 'extra' modulation is really necessary--- - i.e ketotifen and other anti-histamines.

5.) - Histamine H1R vs Histamine H3R

A final mechanism we may employ are the histamine H3R antagonists; namely Pitolisant, Clobenpropit or alike drugs - they can increase NMDAR function and improve wakefulness and memory, about on par of modafanil, and additionally their effects on cAMP-Ca2+ allow for a potentiation of beta-mediated transmission and recurring increase in synaptogenesis regionalized on / around beta-adrenergic terminals.

How to Increase Dopamine Production (Increase TYROSINE HYDROXYLASE Expression / Production) {with Supplements}

Tyrosine hydroxylase is the enzyme by which dopamine is produced from the amino acid tyrosine...it is the root enzyme needed for dopamine production  and directly proportional to the amount of dopamine produced , with the other factor being protein intake.

To increase dopamine PRODUCTION naturally, this is the ideal, 'get to the point', 'get to the root' method.

While a lot of supplements are labeled as being dopamine precursors, and a lot of marketing claims support the usual dopamine boosters such as L-Tyrosine and L-Dopa - there is really no way to circumvent the mechanisms the body resorts to in effort to increase dopamine.

L-Tyrosine won't do much without concurrent increases of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) - therefore, your best bet is using a supplement that increases the enzyme.

Your best bet is FORSKOLIN, a nutraceutical supplement commonly used for fat loss, increasing lean mass and testosterone production, and as a vasodilator. Forskolin is shown to boost both tyrosine hydroxylase and dopamine receptor concentration...see studies below.

Natural Alternatives to Moclobemide (Natural MAO-A Inhibitor Products) (Natural Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors)

MAO-A - Monoamine Oxidase type A - is an enzyme that breaks down, contrary to the type B enzyme, the neurotransmitters dopamine, norepinephrine AND serotonin...and it also has an effect on, in part through regulation of neurotransmitter accumulation - melatonin synthesis.

While MAO-B only breaks down dopamine and PEA.

The difference between MAO-A inhibition and MAO-B inhibition, in terms of effects on  behavior and clinical use , is that MAO-A inhibitors have been around longer and have more exposure as anti-depressants. They have a strong track record for being stimulating but because of their ability to preserve serotonin and norepinephrine as well, they can improve social anxiety more than MAO-B inhibitors.

On the flip side, MAO-A inhibitors (pharma) can provoke allergic reactions more than classical antidepressants and should not be combined with serotonergic medications and supplements.

They also may precipitate the 'cheese' effect and thus eating cheese or other foods with high levels of tyramine is unadvisable and even dangerous while on the medications.

Natural MAO-A inhibitors are a bit safer generally, but it is very difficult to isolate the natural compound and / or to guarantee a clean mechanism of action...however , they may be easier to dose.

The most prominent, acceptable and functional natural MAO inhibitor is known as SYRIAN RUE(1). Containing the alkaloids harmine and harmaline(2) (3).

It can be an alternative to both phenylzine and moclobemide
            (two common MAO inhibitor drugs)
Syrian Rue can be purchased at the following link below.

You can also buy it in a combination product like AYUHUASCA. Shown below.

Where to Buy Natural/Herbal MAO-B Inhibitors + List of Natural MAO-B Inhibitors (OTC MAO-B INHIBITORS)

MAO-B is an enzyme that breaks down (degrades) the neurotransmitters dopamine and PEA. PEA is also known as phenylethylamine -  which is a chemical which activates multiple dopamine receptors and plays a reinforcing role. The chemical rises when one is in love and is associated with the 'runners high' along with beta-endorphin and noradrenaline. PEA enhancement is thus a way to prolong the runner's high and activate the dopaminergic neuronal system and in itself may lead to a greater beta-endorphin rush during exercise etc

Much work has been done to determine whether efficacious natural MAO-B inhibitors hold appreciable affinity for human forms of the enzyme. Assuming they have a high binding rate in the pig or rat does not necessarily equate to the same in humans, especially considering digestive system differences between species.

However, there are some very effective MAO-B inhibitors that are natural/herbal.
Exclamation marks can be clicked to forward you to the study citing the product in question as having MAO-B inhibitory properties.

Active ingredient seems to be Desmethoxyyangonin.

PHARMA MAO-B INHIBITORS

WARNING: These are much stronger than natural versions and thus provide more stimulation, neuroprotection and such but also have a higher probability of causing Insomnia and / or anxiety .  Nausea may occur in some sensitive individuals.
